Mercedes AMG F1 W04

Check out the floor below the Petronas logo. That´s definitely not a flat floor.

AMUS:

- so due to Mercedes the flame was just unburned fuel.

This is what I expected.

But Hamilton hasn't got to worry!...Mclaren stopped because of fuel pump problem!

From that pic it looks to me like the engine cover/sidepod interface is sculpted to encourage the flow over the sidepod down to the floor/diffuser (?)

Hi res of the rear of the car, nice to see the body work outlet better, considering it is raised and the floor as a dip the centre of the diffuser isn't staved of airflow. It looks like they are trying to do something with the outlet almost "blowing" the shrouded lower wishbone?

That link isn't working for me.

Either they are trying to exhaust the gases in an area that doesn't affect the rear aero much, or that it is best for the internal aero flow. It probably is a compromise for both.

I'm guessing the team worked a lot on their cooling and internal flow. This was hinted at by Mark Gillan.
