I get that Rosberg is probably not puishing the car to the max... but doesn't the latest run tell that the tyre degradation situtation is better than last year?

1.19:1, then 1.20:1, 1.20:5, 1:21:3 and then dropping into the 1:22 before finishing in 1'25 after 14 laps...
That's not spectacular.

Hmm... maybe you're right.

I was just desperately hoping that atleast they won't be dealing with the same old problems.

Once again Mclaren have not set a time since the start of the day. To me this seems like a lot of valuable testing time wasted!

On another note Mercedes 1:19.1 is nice to see for a change! Go Nico!

Do you consider testing on 7 degrees Celsius track too valuable?
Fernando Alonso is the best pay-to-drive driver in F1 with the biggest amount of money behind him.

Rosberg just went fastest: 1:19:004. One thousandth of a second faster than Massa.

Kimi didn't posted a time yet.

What are others doing on a 14 lap run? How does the degradation compare, keeping in mind that the tyres are designed for increased degradation this year? Also don't forget that none of the teams will be working too hard on car setup this week. It's all about running the car in, making sure everything works, and making sure that their data gathering is working against as well known a base setup as possible. It won't be until the next test session that they start properly trying to see how the car responds to setup changes and then start trying to dial the car into the circuit.

The teams are all very methodical in their preparations and have a huge program to get through before they start chasing lap times. Those who have evolved the cars less may even show better than those with larger changes on the cars as the base setups will be that much better.

This is why most people wait until the third test before looking at relative performances. The cars then get updated again for the forth test and again for the first race, so even then it can all change.

Yes and their driver has the smallest head/helmet. Different angles?

James Rossiter missed the braking point and could have seriously injured the guy with the jacks. Fortunalety it is not too severe for him. But according to poeple who watched the incident, that was not looking good at all...

Nice one - 1:17.879 (26) Massa

Do we have info about tires?

EDIT:
Those soft tyres are clearly going away for the Brazilian now. His third flying lap of this spell is a 1m19.598s. #F1
