Why not passive f-duct? IMO these systems have a lot more in common with the 2010 f-ducts than with the DRSgray41 wrote:PDRS?
Passive drag reduction system?
This is why me and Scarbs designated them DRD (Drag Reduction Device) as calling it DDRS is so confusing for fans. Crofty even picked up on this late last year and did the same through FP sessions.raymondu999 wrote:Why not passive f-duct? Eh? The DRD and DDRS were two entirely seperate designs. The DRD uses passive blowing of surfaces and fluidic switches to create an f-duct like effect without driver interaction. The DDRS meanwhile uses the DRS to switch flow to other surfaces, and is banned in 2013.Matt Somers wrote:This is why me and Scarbs designated them DRD (Drag Reduction Device) as calling it DDRS is so confusing for fans. But many ppl during 2012 said DDRS while refering to the Lotus System, espcially the swedish commentators, sadly enough. But yeah it has never and will never be involved with the DRS, just that it does the same as DRS so correctly it could be called 2nd DRS or as mentioned earlier PDRS, Passive DRS.beelsebob wrote:Eh? Lotus' Allison came up with DRD acronymMatt Somers wrote:This is why me and Scarbs designated them DRD (Drag Reduction Device) as calling it DDRS is so confusing for fans. You are totally correct. It is a pity that others take credit for something that Allison said publicly on TV.korzeniow wrote:
