It's a passive F duct. The airbrake is really something that cuases a vacuum to be pulled through that pipe at the bottom.DAMNINice wrote:backend is defenitely more compact.

Yes, The fifty million dollar question is if Mercedes has finally fixed the rear tyre wear and grip problems that have plagued them for the last two years.Unc1e_M0nty wrote:I couldn't give a S#£% about the bubbling paint work, by far the biggest problem last year was rear tyre wear and this is what they need to fix, Lewis is a good qualifier if not the best qualifier, he needs good race pace to make the most of this.
I'm realistic, this car is not going to push the RB, Macca & Ferrari all the way, but I'm hoping that on it's day, on the right track, Lewis can push for wins in this car.
I wonder what the silver reverse ramps on top of the driveshaft cowling are for. Maybe sensors looking at the exhaust (in the same way they look at the tyres with IR sensors) or maybe scooping some air in to the cowling to keep something cool. Perhaps it's part of the signalling system for the passive DRD thingy.stefan_ wrote:
