Hey guys, so good to be back on track again (even though the off-season didn't feel too long this time). Nevertheless some of you seem to be so
that you start to discuss the 2012 parts.
The RB9 is the 4th evolution of the RB5 and is just refined. No surprise considering the new regs not until 2014. There are just small (visible) changes which they surely would have done in 2012 had there not been the consequence of a new homologation process (narrower sidepods, Sauberian nose slit).
The tunnel thing is pretty much the same thing as last year and was well elaborated:

"The larger forward ducts simply vent either side of the gearbox"
"The smaller ducts feed back into the diffuser’s boat tail to blow the starter motor hole"

As mentioned there are few changes such as the Sauberian slit behind the nose and the thinner radiator cooling inlets. This should be a solution as good as Sauber's, because the air flow is well ducted around the round sidepods.
We can be sure there will be further updates at the second or third test sessions as Red Bull have never shown their hands at this early stage and they surely first collect data in order to compare them to the ones of the RB8.
So calm down, people!
