F1 on Sky - HD and SD (CRT) TV ?

Post

Folks,

Cheapest (legit) way for me to get full F1 coverage is to upgrade my SKY to SKY HD. But I only have a standard def CRT TV (32" widescreen) which I love to bits because the picture quality still owns every HD plasma/LCD I've seen

Anyone else here go that route and are you happy with the results ?

Cheers,

Rob

Sky have announced that their Sports channels will soon be on-demand online via Now TV at £10 per day. Give that 50% of the races are free to air on the BBC, it may be cheaper to pay to view on demand for the rest especially if you don't intend to watch them all.

... or was this a question about HD TV? Yes, analogue technology gives a softer image and some say more "natural" image/sound but you will lose a lot of detail in the conversion.

Richard, do you mean to say that there will be a legal (albeit paid) internet stream for F1?

Its not been launched yet, but Now say they are going to carry Sky Sports at £10 per day.

We'll just have to see if F1 channel is part of that or not. I'd certainly per per view for a few races

Considering the rubbish that is the Star Sports F1 coverage I get - I'd most definitely shell out 200gbp over the course of the year. If I had a good broadband connection, that is.

Looks like SKy have made my mind up for me. Upgrade to HD, which bring F1 with it, now £5pm for 1st 6 months and then up to £10ish. For both new and existing customers.

Bonza!
