What's the average difference between the medium and hard compound around Catalunya?beelsebob wrote:Based on hamilton's current run, 2.2kg of fuel use per lap, and 0.4 seconds per 10kg of fuel, we now know that Merc can do at least a 1:22.0.
Edit: He was on hards too, so they could do at least a 1:21.0 in qually. 1.2 seconds better than last year's pole time isn't bad.
They're clearly not. If Merc can do a 1:21.0 (which we've established they should be able to), then RBR are still well off their max pace.Javert wrote:Don't understand why RB are pulling out all their bullets
I'm kind of shocked by that improvement in performance, that is a massive step forward for merc. I wonder how much the RB Mc and Fer have improved. We are of course assuming that Merc has shown their hand but the other 3 big guys have not, which I am not sure is the case.beelsebob wrote:Based on hamilton's current run, 2.2kg of fuel use per lap, and 0.4 seconds per 10kg of fuel, we now know that Merc can do at least a 1:22.0.

Little problem in a exhaust collector....Mr.G wrote:Any info why Ferrari are so long in garage?
It can improve another 7 tenths by not having fuel on board – he went on to do another 7 laps.Peetbeat wrote:How much more can improve Hamilton's fastest lap by DRD?
Well, I did say at least, so there's no assumption in there that Merc have shown their hand, they might be able to go faster than a 1:21.0.JimClarkFan wrote:I'm kind of shocked by that improvement in performance, that is a massive step forward for merc.
