Yeah, I got excited for a second...

But still, it's comparable with Perez', I think, given the time of day

Did Alonso really do the 1:22.192 cause it isn't showing at what lap..

they are indeed consistent, but was the difference between qualifying and race pace 9-10 seconds last year too?

I hope Rosberg will do a race simulation today.

Andrew Benson makes a good point, that Ferrari seem to be running a similar programme to Vettel's yesterday, and that the lap times are very similar. Vettel was doing those soft tyre, two-lap runs yesterday morning that Alonso is doing now.

Interesting.

Vettel had far less drop on the second lap, though.

that's actually quite correct, i've checked on f1fanatic's archives and for instance, after the 2nd pit stop during the race, after about the same number of laps as in the simulation now, Maldonado was running in the mid 1:28 to mid 1:29. So he's about 1-1,5 seconds slower now but obviously in different conditions. dunno if it has much relevancy.

Maldonado's fastest lap on last years race was 27.9 almost 6 seconds slower than the 22.1 he managed in Q2, and that's the single fastest lap he (the race winner) did during that race.

He has made 2 pit stops at this point, last years race was a 4 stopper (Barcelona being one of toughest tracks in the calendar).

I said it yesterday: I think Ferrari's deg looks the worst so far. Difficult to tell so far - if he does do a race sim this afternoon, it will be more demonstrable.
