well there are only 11 cars on the track now, instead of 22 and not all of them have done 60-65 laps so far, as you would expect in a race. so you can expect even more debris on race day. plus the tracks are cleaned at the end of each test day, so what we're seeing is only from today.
I didn't think of that. Good point!

look at how the track looks now with these new pirelli, whoever gets off the racing-line is cursed.
Thats ridiculous and very worrying. You can´t even call that "marbles" any more, more like "chunks".Imagine stuff like that going inside radiator openings, the airbox, getting stuck on wings. And im not even talking about how bad it will be to even THINK about going offline, for an overtake for example.

I think they're testing a new rear wing from the looks of some of the pics.

Grosjean's race sim seems quite slow compared to Vettel's first stint. It is on the mediums, which would make a difference, although he pitted after, what, 6 laps?
Got Vettel's simulation times ? Thanks

AMUS -McLaren software cause of problems for F1 teams

I'm glad they are testing the new ECU now and not next year when the new power trains are being introduced.

To be fair they won't be doing as much mileage at GP weekends as they are in testing. Still a lot of marbles though
There will be double the number of cars though on a race weekend. Back to a single file procession cuz if you go off line it'll be worse than a flat spot.

There was a great picture I saw of a mass of tyre residue piled up on the floor in front of the tyre and I wondered how long it would be before a coanda exhaust plume ignited the tyre splat during a race?

I wonder if any team will run under weight knowing they can pickup the pickup on the warm down lap and come into the pits with monster truck tyres?

Very neat and tidy by Rosberg:

1:30.160 (59)
1:32.337 (60)
1:33.243 (61)
1:35.526 (62)
1:29.421 (63)
1:29.451 (64)
1:30.765 (65)
1:29.633 (66)
1:28.786 (67)
1:28.536 (68)
1:28.380 (69)
1:27.922 (70)
1:28.807 (71)
1:28.914 (72)
1:28.666 (73)
1:29.162 (74)
1:29.571 (75)

17 laps on probably mid to high fuel on the medium tyre. Slow beginning, gets the tyres up and running and then settles into a rythm.

I just went back in this thread to find them - page 17 or something.

Vettel started on a low 1:30 and Grosjean with a low 1:31 at the start of the stints; different tyres though.

Indeed. What did they change to make this car appear so featherweight on tires now. Nico could also simply be taking it easy on the tires, but still, I cannot follow how they would degrade so little.

Webber appears to be on a race sim at the moment. First 7 laps were in the 1:31 range, tire change, then 1:28 dropping to current 1:31.7 after 11 laps.
