Anyone knows what this hole is for?
Adjustements to front suspension? As I recall they had some trouble adjusting front suspension since the barge boards were in the way.

Or to diffuse airflow over the radiators for more even cooling?

I was thinking a long the same lines, possibly an outlet to allow Ferrari to either have a more aggressive suspension setup or re-position the linkages in order to allow better flow to the side-pods?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

What a cluttered livery they have nowadays. Looks a mess! Shame because this is the first Ferrari I've found aesthetically pleasing in years and mean since the F2002 which was a real looker imho!!

i saw those too. I'm pretty sure they are thermal cameras. since they seem to be angled to the front tires.

if not thermal cameras then something else, but it is definitely a measuring device, i remember it being on the F2012 during testing last year too.

If I'm right it will be gone in australia as they were last year.

better view and here you can see they are angled to the front wheels.

Can they not keep them? Seems wise to have that info during races.

In my opinion I think it looks great.....not bland....love the red on the fw too....this car looks more purposefull....it looks like a beautiful racing car.....now redbull and lotus look cluttered......

Back to topic....any thoughts on the tyre degradation....read reports saying the ferrari may be worst.....if that is the case wouldn't a suspension geometry fix that issue?

This run was done by Felipe on last day of Barca testing, looks pretty good to me in terms of tire deg....

Only possible because of the extremly slow first lap. -> 1.33.358
But that's nothing you can do in a real race.

Pirelli has made it clear that, the situation in races wouldn't be the same. According to pirelli, its not degradation, its tear off issue due to less than ambient temperatures. Outside of tyres are not warming up and hence causing a lot of skid, which is tearing off the tyres. Barcelona Test 2 kind of temperatures wouldn't happen in races and Pirelli expects the tyres to perform much better. I think the teams would have got this feedback from Pirelli and wouldn't be unduly worried about the degradation. Melbourne will give us all the right answers related to the tyre situation. Until then its all guess work.

So by doing 1 slower lap, you win about 15 consistent laps? interesting, sounds like something they might do in a race
Do you feel you can beat the Red Bulls, either to pole position or the race itself?

ferrari used ''used'' tyres during races in season 2012. they would run their tyres 2 or 3 laps much slower than usual durin fridays so that tyers would behave better during races. maybe they tried the same here, first 2-3 laps ''cooking'' tyres , and after evaluating their performance.
