If anything, Mercedes should consider quitting DTM if they do not win this year's title. They are slimming down to six cars this year after failing to keep Jamie Green and failed to attract any good experienced current DTM drivers from Audi and BMW. I hope Daniel Juncadella will have a great debut year for Mercedes. Gary Paffet needs strong teammates around him to challenge the BMW and Audi regularly and take points away from them.

Mercedes' pitch to young up and coming drivers is BS. Teaching and training them to operate at near F1 standards with the possibility of graduating to F1. They somehow think BMW and Audi operate at lower standards........As for graduating to F1, Mercedes is in no position to give such promise. Sam Bird didnt come from DTM. Di Resta was good, but also lucky to land the Force India seat.

F1 is a proven global advertising platform while DTM is not well known outside of continental Europe and virtually unknown in most of the emerging markets.

Source? Or is this just pure speculation?

Mercedes only owned 100% of the team for a few months.

Selling 40% of it to Wolff and Lauda is a shifting of the shares from aabar to Daimler to Wolff/Lauda.
This was the condition of their F1 involvement right from the very start.

if you take what Lewis is saying along with all that has been happening in management, you see that yes, the car is not there yet. but they are going in the right direction i.e. the right people are working on that solution.

Lowe to Mercedes is a done deal according to the Guardian.

I think this spells the end for Ross Brawn, unless the W04 can make up this "1 second" he has spoken of recently. Although in the news-piece it does mention that Brawn and Lauda have a "fractious" relationship, Wolffs' arrival has been a calming influence for the pair.

With Brawn having 4 bites of the cherry I feel Lowe in charge of operations at Mercedes is something I would want to see happen sooner rather than later.

Grauniad reporting Lowe to Merc is done.

Would be interesting to know if Lewis thinks this is a positive or negative.

Wow, quite complicated times for Mclaren, they are losing their gemns in a very few time.

I think that Brawns era in Mercedes is almost done, I dont understand the arrival of this engineer to Mercedes if someone doesnt leave the team. In my opinion its quite logic to say goodbye to Brawn after Schumis retirement.

I wouldnt get rid of the guy who brought in Lewis Hamilton, Aldo Costa, Geoff Willis and Bob Bell.

Ross Brawn is great at building a team.

And I personally dont see the past 3 years as a disaster. Lets face it, Brawn GP was an empty shell of a team. I personally find it believable that it took 3 years to rebuild it. Although 3 years may seem like eternity in F1, in reality it is a very very short time. To rebuild an F1 team, to hire all these good personel and to restructure the entire organization, is not easy within a mere 3 years. Not to mention that rule changes crippled the BGP-001 line of cars.

I dont think all these great engineers would be joining Mercedes if they believed 'there are too many cooks.' I'm sure that such smart and driven people, know exactly what they are doing.

Merc AMG fans breath a huge sigh of relief as Martin Whitmarsh confirms he is staying at McLaren.

If this car can't win at least 3 races and score few podiums Brawn have to find another team..... maybe SCORPION RACING .

You can't sign a driver like Lewis and offer him a paper car.....

Indeed. And you have to go a long way back to see Mclaren win a constructors trophy

But Ross has said he would prepare the way for his exit. So all the signs are pointing at 2014. So one last chance for some glory for the big guy.

Autosport hints that Brawn may be there for the long term. So what exact roles these two guys will have will be interesting.

Don't forget that Paddy is doing nothing until 2014 and he won't have any real influence until 2015 season. That might just be long enough for Brawn and might just be the succession planning Brawn spoke of just playing out..
