Mercedes AMG F1 W04

To sum up testing the car looks good! It has the most Kms than any other car!(well i did my calculations of course...5.169 kms!)..so reliability wise it is promising i think! But it looks a bit worrying that there were no aerodynamic updates! They really need them!

You're a bit off, Mercedes did 5225km, and Sauber did slightly more, 5305km

Hah maybe...but considering they lost 2 days at Jerez it's really good job!

I was under the impression the Hamilton failure was caused by a broken brake line probably caused by the fire in that area the day before. Do you have a source on that?
It was a brake line, I read that from like 4 or 5 different sources.
Its also really cool to be having brake cooling issues atm.

Sauber-engineer Willem Toet calculated: Mercedes AMG is two seconds faster than last year. Aldo Costa: Yes, but we need to find more downforce. =D>

The W04 is looking better and better.

There's always a lot of chat about teams bringing upgrades to Melbourne, are they upgrades or just Melbourne specific components?

To be honest, I expected more updates during the last two days of F1 testing. I hope they will bring more to Melbourne. Lewis Hamilton said that they will have a new package before Malaysia.

I think Mercedes will bring out the rear-wing louvred endplates once them have sorted its downforce balance out. They must be the only top team not running them.

For me it's really interesting that all the top teams from last year running with at least some new bits on their cars at the last days of testing, probably running the Melbourne spec car. On Mercedes it was impossible to find any upgrade on the car since Barcelona two weeks ago or even more.

Hard to believe how they want to progress with the poor aerodynamic they have.

Wow, you can tell that the aerodynamics are poor from a few pictures on the internet? You should apply to be Newey's right hand man!

Seriously, the W04 has had a front wing change, new sidepods, new exhaust system amongst other things. Hardly the sign of a team that has stood still over the winter.

The car appears to be reasonably quick at this stage - the key is whether they can carry that performance in to the races and then, crucially, keep up in the development race with the front runners.

Hola, so you think if there are new gizmo bits, thats when the car is good? You don't need lot of funny stuff bolted to make a quick car. If you get the fundamentals right, which I guess is the case with W04 (i am not saying this is championship winning car), then you can have a competitive car. You have to look at the staff who have designed this car and you will understand the difference to the Predecessor. It seems to have only inherited the looks. You should have followed the development NEWS to understand the difference.
