I'm guessing you missed last year -- the W03 pre-release speculation thread went to over 200 pages! That's more than most of the other car theads generated over the entire season! Rather I think this year has been fairly tempered from Merc fans. I think Mercedes is like Toyota was 5 years ago when they just couldn't get the respect. I remember everyone saying they just needed a top 5 driver like Alonso. Now that Mercedes pulled the trigger on Lewis and Co., there is no more excuses. Deja-vu, i would say. I remember Haug saying after China GP 2012: "Who are the ones having issues with the tyres? Not us!" - we all know what happened later in the season.
