A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe."Murray Walker, San Marino 1985
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

I do wonder why the front mounted calipers - surely that would promote a larger polar moment of inertia? Why not the calipers at the back of the upright?
They might need them forwards for a fundamental weight distribution issue.
I cannot recall another car with front mounted calipers - they all seem to be from 3 O'clock to 6 O'clock
I read an article on AMuS, it stated that FI brought an exhaust update to Malaysia. It was planned to be fitted in race one but they somehow forgot to take the update to Melbourne (!). http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/form ... 92109.html

Force India sets as the works team of Mercedes to a resonator in the exhaust manifold. Minimizes the power loss caused by the reduced tailpipe diameter, and it provides a more stable gas flow. This helps the aerodynamics.
