They changed hamilton's rear wing in Monaco in about 5 minutes before if i remember correctly. And that was a very technical pull down and refitting, which was done on the grid. Mechanics had to be going back and forth.
2 minutes is reasonable, depending on the damage.
For Sure!!

With all the work that goes into conditioning the track for the race... wouldn't it be possible to simply remove all the painted lines that should not be there and paint them again after the weekend?

It was basically a snapped endplate - another car basically mounted Lewis's car from the rear, and the endplate broke. They basically replaced one endplate, but Lewis couldn't deploy DRS for the rest of the race

Don't you mean he basically couldn't deploy DRS for the rest of the race?

As I had posted earlier, it will be mostly sunny with some hazy clouds but it will be cold and windy, and the end of the race is going to be murder on the tires because by then the track will start cooling off as well

I have to say, a bit out of topic, the live chat during qualifying was great. It gave me a sense of your real characters,
leaving a side those little egos on technological knowledge and bringing proper fun to what it was in my case a bit desappointing early morning. I would not be able to be on by the qualifying time but would try to be during the race.
As I said real fun, looking for to chat with you soon

Hamilton's right rear tyre took a hefty impact. Can they claim damage and change the suspension/wishbone before q2 ? I would definitely have it changed if I was the team boss.

No worries, only the rear wing was damaged.

There's only a few ways you can remove the lines, high pressure water or grind them off. either way not cheep or quick

I've seen it done with a blow torch and it is extremely slow

The video on this link appears to show it as a relatively quick process. But then I guess it is also the the cost of doing this, combined with the cost of re-applying the lines weighed against how often it does rain. Besides, is it such a bad thing the drivers having to be careful of them?

Interesting reading of Road Surface Marking

I guess it is not so simple to remove them

Was that not what I said? There was some structuraldamage to the point that the team were worried the assembly would disintegrate if he were to turn DRS on.

Really? when I first read that I thought it was because the hydraulics were damaged. Why would that be the case? DRS reduces loads on the structure.

No, but they're everywhere, to the point where they're nearly unavoidable, turn 1 being an example.
