RK says also that on some tracks already could ride, and the other is missing. He said also that the cars would be enough to expand by 10 cm, and it would be much easier.

In the Warsaw Marriott Hotel held a press conference pre-season Robert Kubica. Presented white-red-blue Citroen DS3 stickers RRC, where Robert Kubica and Maciek Baran will complete WRC 2 and selected rounds of the ERC. Partner of the crew was Grupa LOTOS. Today was the signing of a cooperation agreement between Robert Kubica and Lotus. The other partners are Citroen and Michelin.
Calendar starts with 11 races - seven WRC rounds two and four rounds of the European Championship. The crew credited sequentially Rally Islas Canarias, Rally de Portugal, SATA Rallye Acores, the Tour de Corse, Akropolis, Rally d'Italia Sardegna-, Finland, Germany, Polish Rally, Rallye de France and the Rally RACC Catalunya Costa Daurada.

- I feel good. - Robert Kubica said. - This is one of the most important days of my motorsport adventure. I used to determine adventure purpose, because it changed motorsport discipline. With Citroën Group Lotus and we can go to world and European rallies. Let's hope we have a lot of funu, gather a lot of experience. This is the first season - new partners, new raids. We will be waiting for a lot of news, a lot of surprises, but we hope for good results.
For me, every race is a new one. Certainly Rally Portugal will be the most difficult of the season. Contrary to the information that is released, I had not even gravel tests. Rally will be the Canary Islands. Portugal is my first start on gravel, the first in the world championship. The first time I go so long oes - planned 52-kilometer stretch. Together with Maciek will learn.
To me, there is nothing to pump the balloon. In Poland there is a tendency to do with each other masters before starts. My goal is to learn, learn and learn again. I will learn along with Maciek driving the car, work with the team. It's a huge challenge, not only for me but also for Maciek. We are a new crew and we have to fix some things in the course starts. After a period, which went through the last two years, this season will be a very important event in my life.
We had organized a very challenging tests on the asphalt. Unfortunately, the weather thwarted our plans and the two days it got half a day. On the first day the rain fell, there was a strong wind. We stopped driving because a large tree fell on the road and we blocked the route. The next day the weather was even worse. After 10 kilometers we had to complete the test, as it began to snow. We planned to test about 400 km, which would be a good start. Unfortunately, I've done a lot of kilometers far less.
On Sunday we fly to the Canary Islands and on Monday we will participate in the official tests, along with other crews. We will learn driving on dry roads. We are well-oriented, positive energy flow will be all right. The first rally will be a test for the rally special stages in the Canary Islands are winding, places fast. Certainly will not be easy, but priority for this rally will know the car, rip the Maciek. You long to prepare, but in the course of the rally go some shortcomings.
A few times I had the opportunity to ride on gravel, a lot rode on the snow, but I will not talk about my feelings with driving on a loose surface. It's not just about getting used to the gravel special stages. Rally is a difficult discipline. It is important to experience more important than race. There toured the track several times and the driver knows everything. The rally is all unknown to me. Before Portugal gravel tests we have planned, that will be very important, but special stages is governed by its own laws. After three or four runs shakedown becomes for me the track. Begins to associate turns, remember the route. At the rally, there is no such thing. You have to have one hundred percent confidence in the description. The most important thing this year is to work on the description. Here is the greatest room for improvement and that will be the key to success.
There are various techniques to gain experience to become one of the best in the world. This collection can be a painful experience. If you go slowly, traveling tourist rate is much less likely that something will happen, but a lot smaller, it will come out shortcomings. Together with Maciek we take risks. It has to be calculated, controlled. Certainly the experience Maciek rip each other to come quite easily. Gradually, we will be able to evaluate, assess how fast we can travel safely.
There are two things - the driver out of the car, who always comes to the cold, at least I did - and the driver, who is in the car, striving for perfection. In fact, the rally is not perfection. In race two or three times I was able to drive a perfect lap. I'm going to track where maniacally committed to perfection. The rally is not. There is much more promoted experience improvisation. Obviously, the closer to perfection is done, the better it is.
This year we start the toughest rallies in the world championships and certainly a big challenge awaits us - not just to pass oes as soon as possible, but to survive oes, get to the finish line, deal with different weather conditions. The no racing simulator as in F1. Unfortunately, this season is dedicated only to learn.

For me it is most important to return to competing at the highest level in the world of motorsport. I said that this year I will try to include the highest-ranking championship - and I think I kept my word. Compared to rally the World Cup, but Formula 1 is higher, but you can not really compare it, because it's two very different disciplines. It is like comparing a great marathon and running the 100-meter sprint at the Olympics.
I made some tests on the track in cars with roof - much more than most here know. I'm sorry I did not I informed that I did not write for a long time, but going through a very difficult period. Each trip to the track, each rally car traveling helped me in the rehabilitation of this rehabilitation will take. I remember that some things I learn in the course of the season.
The decision to change was not an easy discipline. I think this is the beginning of a new stage in my career. Everything I've done in my life, he came to do a hundred percent, to devote to this. So will the rallies. My approach will be like before the accident. Everything was always dedicated to my passion - cars, racing, and now they are rallying. It is not that the race went on odstawkę. It is possible that this season I will be a frequent guest on the track. This will not be racing, but tests. It is also an important factor when it comes to my rehabilitation, but these tests will only be if the schedule permits and will not interfere with the program that I started to do.
I am very happy that I am part of the program, which will hopefully bring us a lot of satisfaction - we as a crew, but also the fans, our partners. With some of you will meet at rallies. I hope we all meet at the end of the year and we can talk about big impressions, big experiences. Let's hope that the experience will provide a large our fans.
Maciek Baran was presented as pilot Robert Kubica. - For me it is very exciting season. I spent 11 years with one driver. Now sit in the fastest driver in Poland, or even the world. Robert says that there is no room for error - and I acknowledge it. I hope that my experience and years spent in the rally car as soon as possible to help us find the right rhythm and everything will be easy and natural.

We have to remember that Robert Kubica underlined that he will learn in his first rallies but It's good to know his strongest opponents. The most famous name is of course Jan Kopecky - Kubica's friend, who will drive a Skoda Fabia S2000. Kopecky won many IRC and ERC rallies and a few stages in WRC rallies, also in the Rally Islas Canarias in past years. The second dangerous driver will be Craig Breen with whom Kubica competited last year and the Pole won this battle.

TV?

You will able to see highlights from the rally on Eurosport.

Kubica's doctor Igor Rossello about the Pole`s hand:

"Robert has no problem at all with holding a steering wheel. The main problem is arm rotation which is not perfect. He needs more space to turn right and that's the reason why he cannot drive single-seaters on every circuit. Another surgery can help with it but it's very difficult to do" - said Igor Rossello, Kubica's surgeon.

Hanninen: Kubica will be fast

"I don’t think it would be a question of what advice I could give Robert Kubica for the Canaries, it would be more a question if what advice he could give me! I don’t think there is anything I could help him with. Canaries is really like a race track, probably the most like that of all the rallies. So I think he will be really fast there" - said Juho Hanninen, a famous rally driver.

Interview with Robert Kubica before the first start of the FIA ERC

Robert Kubica, who on March 21 will compete in the rally in the Canary Islands, gave a short interview series official FIA European Rally Championship, in which he talks about his goals for this season and plans for the future.

Welcome to the ERC Robert. What made you decide to choose the rallies, despite the possibility of starts on the racetrack?

Robert Kubica: It attracts me a very big challenge. It is huge, one of the largest, if not the greatest in my life. Each race will be a new discovery, and I might be able to participate in more European rounds than it is currently planned - this gives even more excitement. I'm also a big fan of racing - I watch them on the Internet or on Eurosport. I always followed the actions of the driver, and soon he will be one of those who appear in the following sections, so it just feels great to me.

Given what happened to you in case you were not afraid to again sit behind the wheel of a rally car?

RK: But in motorsports accidents happen. I do not wish it on anybody, but we've seen worse situations in motorsport. Somehow, my great passion for motorsport, including rally, was extremely helpful in the past two years, so I can focus on work and improve your fitness.

Have you always believed that you can come back and compete again in international motorsport?

RK: I would continue to be an F1 driver, but my passion led me right to such a program, and I will try to focus on it even though I can not say how long it will last. Even a half years ago, if someone had told me that I worked with Lotus, Citroen and Michelin Rally Championship of Europe and the World Rally Championship would not have believed it. I am not a person who is easy to get excited, but when I appear at the start of the stage will be accompanied this huge emotions, especially during the first race of the Canary Islands, as it was my first challenge at such a high level since the accident.

What is your goal for this season?

RK: For sure I need to learn and remember that you do not find myself on the race track, I take part in the rally, I'm on the next episode, I have a lot to learn, because I'm new here. It will take some time before all the assimilation, but I have to take advantage of opportunities this season and bring all science.

Do you have any wytyczyłeś the plans for the distant future?

RK: I still have hope that I can go back to where I was. It may seem strange, because I come from Formula 1 and stopped suddenly my life in one second. Now I know, in fact I always knew, but now I appreciate more is that there is nothing better in life than to do things that they want to do. I had the wonderful opportunity of being an F1 driver, but on the other hand he has an opportunity to remain racing driver with a very good program. I can do a great job.
