Webber will beat Vettel in the WDC standings.

I say this knowing full well that Vettel got the Chariot card again this year ( )

In Sepang Webber showed that same flare he displayed in Silverstone last year. His management of the tyres was good, something that has hindered him in the previous seasons. I can see this form continuing, and I wouldn't be surprised if he lead Vettel into the Summer break for the 4th time in 5 seasons. I can't see the tension in the RBR team/garage having a negative impact on Webber - he's been there many times before and he has thrived under those conditions. We'll have to see how well he handles the second string of fly-away races that have stifled his championship aspirations in the past, but I have nothing to lose so I say this year he gets it to go his way.

You heard it here first.

Since Vettel first complete season in 2008, he has been finishing ahead of Webber even driving his first season with STR.

In 2008 Vettel got more points than Webber and Coulhard combined in Red Bull (35 -29).

As usual I had a look what BetFair says about the odds of the team mates for WDC. I show only the upper five teams because lower down the odds are not giving any discrimination. So this is what the betting money currently thinks about their chances:

Sebastian Vettel 1.9 (53%) vs Mark Webber 17 (6%); 53-6=47; 53/6=8.8
Fernando Alonso 4 (25%) vs Felipe Massa 34 (3%) 25-3=22; 25/3=8.3
Kimi Raikkonen 7 (14%) vs Romain Grosjean 67 (2%) 14-2=12; 14/2=7
Lewis Hamilton 12 (8%) vs Nico Rosberg 41 (2%) 8-2=6; 8/2=4
Jenson Button 26 (4%) vs Sergio Perez 81 (1%) 4-1=3; 4/1=4

If you look at the chances in percentages you can express the difference and the ratio. In every case the betting money sees the biggest domination at Red Bull followed by Ferrari, Lotus, McLaren and Mercedes.

This is probably not so accurate the lower you go down the list but for the three current top teams it expresses pretty much what I think myself.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

i thik that fangio will definately beat bergher, because bergher likes burgers too much and will get fat and explode leaving his team (burgervan ltd) in a difficult position wether to clean up his burgery remains, disintigrated burgers dispersed throughout his rotting corpse.

I still believe. This isn't some situation where Webber has a better grasp of the car before Vettel gets his tailored chassis. Webber has Vettel's machine and Webber was making it count in Malaysia.

I mentioned it someplace else, but Webber HAS to make these first round of fly-aways work for him. He'll get a bit of a boost with the Euro races (his strengths are in Monaco and Silverstone), but will falter by Spa and Monza (based on past seasons) as the rest of the teams begin to catch up. I totally agree about the last round of fly-aways. They and the tilke-o-dromes have always been a bit of a bane and so to balance out those potential losses, he HAS TO GET THESE NEXT 2-3 RACES RIGHT.

(Realistically, though, Vettel will still win this year - at least between teammates).

You realise the next 2 races are tilkedromes right?

So if he can strike while the iron is hot and it is still early in the season (i.e. he may have a car advantage over the other teams before the first round of major developments come and then that advantage could be diminished), then he'll be in a much better position by the glut that is Singapore, Korea, India, Abu Dhabi, CotA (with some better luck in Japan and Brazil. The key here is momentum.

I always liked webber as a person, and I liked him when he was putting Jaguars on the front row, but I still don't see this happening. I could be wrong as I'm just skimming off the top of my head, but iirc the only time webber has out finished Sebastian on a Tilkedrome is china 2012.

After three races I'd say:

Vettel beats Webber
Alonso beats Massa
Raikonnen beats Grosjean
Hamilton beats Rosberg (Though Rosberg has been very unlucky with two DNF's)
Button beats Perez
Hulkenberg beats Guiteirrez
Ricciardo beats Vergne
DiResta beats Sutil
Bianchi beats Chilton

I don't care and don't have an opinion about the Carterhams.

Intra-team battle 2013

Post

We're 3 races into the year now and can just about begin to get some data on how the intra team battles are going.

RedBull
Vettel has outqualified Webber 3-0
Vettel has outraced Webber 3-0
Vettel has outscored Webber 2:1
Clear top dog: Vettel

Ferrari
Massa has outqualified Alonso 2-1
Alonso has outraced Massa 2-1
Alonso has outscored Massa 1.43:1
Slim top dog: Alonso

Lotus
Raikonnen has outqualified Grosjean 3-0
Raikonnen has outraced Grosjean 2-1
Raikonnen has outscored Grosjean 4.45:1
Clear top dog: Raikonnen

Mercedes
Hamilton has outqualified Rosberg 3-0
Hamilton has outraced Rosberg 3-0 (though arguably this should be 2-1 thanks to team orders)
Hamilton has outscored Rosberg 3.33:1
Clear top dog: Hamilton

McLaren
Button has outqualified Peres 3-0
Button has outraced Peres 2-1
Button has outscored Peres 6:1
Clear top dog: Button

Force India
DiResta has outqualified Sutil 2-1
DiResta has outraced Sutil 2-1 (though arguably this should be 3-0 thanks to team orders)
DiResta has outscored Sutil 1.33:1
Fairly clear top dog: DiResta

Toro Rosso
Ricciardo has outqualified Vergne 2-1
Ricciardo has outraced Vergne 2-1
Ricciardo has outscored Vergne 6:1
Fairly clear top dog: Ricciardo

Sauber
Hulkenberg has outqualified Guttieres 3-0
Hulkenberg has outraced Guttieres 2-1
Hulkenberg has outscored Guttieres infinitely (5/0)
Clear top dog: Hulkenberg

Williams
Maldonado has outqualified Bottas 2-1
Bottas has outraced Maldonado 3-0
Neither driver has scored
Slim top dog: Bottas

Marrussia
Biancci has outqualified Chilton 3-0
Biancci has outraced Chilton 3-0
Neither driver has scored
Clear top dog: Biancci

Caterham
Pic has outqualified Van Der Garde 2-1
Pic has outraced Van Der Garde 3-0
Neither driver has scored
Clear top dog: Pic

Only three drivers remain undefeated in both race and qualifying: Vettel, Hamilton and Biancci.
Two supprising results stand out: DiResta is fairly comfortably taking on Sutil; and Massa is much closer to Alonso than I would have expected.
The result for Mercedes perhaps flatters Hamilton, he's not generally been much faster than Rosberg, but has always been just ahead.

Oops, my bad, didn't notice this thread was here, I tabulated the results so far in http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=14916, I come to the same conclusion as you.

I think with Hamilton & Rosberg, its all down to Hamilton being head and sholders above Nico in 1 session at each weekend, Q3.
