They are indeed, I tried to ask the team about this without success. I did speak to Mark Preston a few weeks back and he was coy abouth if they were goign to devleop a new car of the own. May be this is just an interim car (allowable in testing) to be more representative than the compromised Arrows\Aguri chassis for testing purposes.

Also my hosue mate noticed they are running a differant air box to honda, the Hole is a differant shape.

It almost looks like some kind of Ristrictor.

Still the car shows two significant developments relative to the RA106:
-the airbox
-the frontwing
(Honda raced a similar wing at Magny Cours but still with a different curve).

Why go through such lengths if it is just an interim car, rather than an early specification of what will be their 2007 car?

It is same chassis with few differeces in aero parts. I'd say that it is 99% Honda. Airbox inlet might be smaller because 2007 engines can't rev over 19.000 anymore so perhaps it is somehow related to that.

If STR used RBR former chassis in 2005 and if Aguri uses Honda's 2006 chassis is it possible than that RBR 2007 chassis will be R26?

STR used RBR chassis just because RBR1 was officially built by jaguar. Aguris will use RA106 just in testing i supose (maybe we'll have a very simmilar SA07)

Indeed. What's the point of testing is what you're testing isn't almost identical to what you'll officially use? If not aero bits than chassis is identical for sure (I mean tub and suspension).

I believe that at this period between seasons, collecting data on the new Bridgestone tires is most important. And trust me, Honda and SA will share such data right now.

I also believe it is part of the deal. By doing this Honda circumvents the restriction on the number of cars (2) per team at a test.
