Ferrari F138

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Split flap in the last picture, similar to the one they tested last race

At first glance I thought they were fiber optic cables, but now I think they might be pneumatic crystal PVC hoses, going into a ¿sensor/actuator? box (with brass fittings). Am I too wrong?

The red box in the blue rectangle should be a pressure scanner to which the pipes sensing pressure on the lower surface of the front wing connect - the scanner would need an electrical and a data connection also

The new FW spotted in China is the most interesting development seen thus far in China. Ferrari being the only team to introduce a slot in the FWEP-foot plate was a surprise and the end plate & foot plate introduced today is even more interesting, now two slots and the lacks the turn up leading to the inside of the endplate. It also appears the guides on the inside of the end plate have been re-orientated.

The second is probably the one that was tested in Malaysia with the split flap

No the second picture has two separate splits in the footplate, the one tested in Australis/Malaysia only had one.
