Kerkythea and SU

Post

hi guys

thought we could make a topic for tips with Kerkythea (as we also have one with Khamsin)

I know you can add colours etc but can you make a proper livery? In more advanced programs you can UV map is something like this possible or has anyone got other tips around this?

you probably could.
the way I did it was by drawing on the car in SU then assigning random colours and renaming them to what the colour represents.
this approach makes it easier once exported to Kerkythea as you can tell which colour needs materials applying.
if you didnt know already, double clicking on a colour on the left hand list in Kerkythea will highlight that part of the model.
first thing to do is grab all the materials available - http://www.kerkythea.net/forum/viewtopi ... =19&t=6425
render preset 3 to test everything is set up and then 17 or 19 for your final render.

no reason that cant be done in SU, just use bezier tools to draw lines on the bodywork.
thats what I did for the stripe on the rear wing. I just used the line tool to do the stripe along the bottom of the sidepod and the two triangles on the top of the tub.

Very nice, it has much more detail than my F138. It would be nice if you posted some pictures from the construction(if you have any). I am also interested in how the suspension is made, bacause it's so thin and precise while still holding the car. And a few more questions:
1-what cardboard did you use?
2-how did you make the curved shapes-for example the sidepods
thanks very much!
