Do you think that would be possible?
Possible? Always a possibility. Probable? Probably not. It's raining right now by the way. But as was mentioned, it dries in an instant and would not require intermediate tires.

...and if it didn't dry immediately I'd imagine the race would have to be halted - can't imagine drainage was high on their list.

But that would require biblical-disappointment levels of precipitation

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Well then... Massa should just give the Mediums a real workout through the practice sessions to see how long he makes 'em last, and try to make the graining go away. Then perhaps he can get away with doing one shorter stint on the Hards (maybe 11 or 12 laps?). Med-Med-Hard-Med then? And as long as Rob doesn't tell him to go easy on the tires. :-s

Oh, and for pole I think either Hamilton or Alonso will get it.

I don't think Alonso will "aim" for the pole... If he gets it eventually, well and good but I think they'll want to be the strongest on race pace, giving up a couple of places on the grid if needed.
Finishing second is being the first one of losers....

I think the acceleration that the F138 has off the start line is mitigating their losses in Qualifying. But at sakhir and the dusty track i dont know if that is going to help the F138s this time.

i suppose its the same for everyone though. One of the questions i look forward to getting an answer for this weekend.

To be honest, I don't think that F138 has much better acceleration as far as the car per se is concerned - it's more attributed to the drivers themselves.
The car is no different than others when it comes to the start procedure - same tires, same weight, same electronics, it's just the clutch condition that's different, but in F1 they are being serviced after each start (average price 10k euro, btw).

The track is quite dusty despite the rains from the past few days.

And I'm watching via a German stream and it's a very different perspective. :?

Listening to Heiki interview now, II am glad he is getting a go today.
I feel for the guy though! He should be on the F1 grid. Its a pitty the state in which the lower teams always find themselves, and guys like Heiki missing out cause of money.
Maybe he should go to RBR next season to replace MW if he decides to walk away

To be honest i didn't even think of giving the drivers the credit because they have both been performing equally well on the starts i attributed it to the car.
