I feel for the guy though! He should be on the F1 grid. Its a pitty the state in which the lower teams always find themselves, and guys like Heiki missing out cause of money.
Maybe he should go to RBR next season to replace MW if he decides to walk away
He doesn't deserve it
It's been a long time since we drove last time, but it has also been a short time at the same time

Did somebody watched the FP1? How did Ferrari perform? I mean how it looks on track, any problems?

Ferrari looked pretty good however Vettel's had the 'best' best splits. RB normally start FP1 a little slower than the others so I think 1 lap pace RB might have the edge but long run pace I probably expect Ferrari to be better

Agree, RB must be fast here but Ferrari looks very very good. Lets see what happens with Lotus, they always hide a great part of their potential.

I did, god knows why, it's like watching paint dry. It's hard to draw conclusions from best times, because they were achieved at different times in the session. Never mind all the others, work on set up or whatever.

From memory and for example: Raikkonen was immediately quick early in the session, as was Sutil a bit later. First fast times for Mercedes drivers were similar Rosberg improved later, Alonso was quick immediately, Massa's best time was a bit later, Red Bulls seemed to be driving all the time (camera focus?) never in front, never much behind.

If you look sectors time, one by one, and you do the total, Vettel is 0.200 faster than Massa overall.
So I think Redbull is faster.

That's because of rounding. It's actually more like 0.08s: http://en.mclarenf-1.com/index.php?page ... s=7205&p=3

Vettel set his time earlier as well although sometimes the idea of the track getting faster all the time is exaggerated

Vettel was fastest with heavy fuel. Only Rosberg was able to come close. Hamilton and Webber about 0.8 to 1 second slower per lap. For quali pace, let's wait until the end of FP2.

I'd say wait until someone can consolidate the data from both FP1 and FP2 - then we look at things. Quali pace, to be frank FP3 is a better indicator.

Could someone explain in simple terms, what makes a track front limited or rear limited?

I.e. is it about tight/slow corners (mechanical grip important) vs wide/fast corners (aero important)?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Very strange noise coming out of Rosberg's engine ... maybe they are playing with engine mappings?
This year is the same rule regarding engine mapping?
I mean they could use only the first 4 races engine mappings?
