The track is almost 6km long.

The race is predicted to draw alot of people in. When Webber gave a demo in 2010, it attracted over 100,000 people.

What do you guys think? It looks like a simple street circuit, but could work out.

That's a long track, especially to have only one good overtaking spot. It's a DRS dream track with the length of those straights.



I might have run the final corner further down to create a hairpin leading onto the "main" straight. Make the track even longer.

Not a bad backdrop for a race, I have to say...



Of course Bernie will run the race at night so you can't see it. Maybe put up a grandstand in front of the palace.

Personally I would have just removed 4 corners and made it one full straight next to the water.

A big "meh" from me. The last thing we need is another boring street circuit, especially in this area.

Why can't we just revamp the tracks in France, Turkey and Austria and put them back on the calendar, I mean Thailand!! I may be sounding ignorant right now but does anyone in Thailand watch F1? I mean Russia and New Jersey I agree with, they are massive markets in two of the largest and richest country's in the world and look like great tracks, New Jersey could even be the new Monaco. But Thailand? No. Track doesn't look that great either.

I want to wait until I actually watch a race on that track before I make a full judgment on it. It looks good with the tight corners, barriers and a backdrop very similar to Monaco but I want to wait and see.

I know I know there's not much overtaking but its the challenge of Monaco where just completing a lap is a spectacular achievement. I have always had a soft spot for it one that many others don't share, and yes to bring cash in. But anyway im getting off topic, why o why Bernie Thailand?, spend some more money in Europe but good job with the 2014 super power tracks as they will now be known lol

Heh, oddly, Monaco is the easiest track on any of the F1 20xx games for me. I don't really find driving it a big achievement. I find other tracks (Bahrain and Singapore spring to mind as the two circuits I still really can't get to grips with) much much harder.

Yes Singapore is a nightmare on those games such a long lap and tight corners. Thailand just looks easy, to many straights.

why o why Bernie Thailand?

Thailand, because they'll give Bernie money.

There are three kinds of circuits on the calendar: traditional circuits, in countries that already follow the sport; development circuits, in countries that Bernie wants to follow the sport; and showcase circuits, where it doesn't matter if anyone follows the sport or not.

The showcase races aren't run for local enjoyment, nor to develop local interest. They exist for outside consumption, to make people watch the race and think, "Hey, that's actually a cool place. Maybe I'll take a vacation there." Or, more accurately, for businesses to think "Hey, I'd never considered investing there before, but it actually seems like a fairly stable, growing market."

And so these countries pay Bernie big bucks to stage a race. They're the biggest sponsors in the sport.
