Vettel did mentioned something about only using option tires for Q. what kind of tire strategy is RPR planning for tomorrow?

short stint of option then prime prime?
option, prime, prime, prime!
Yep at least 3 stops today, Mercedes and red bull have three new sets of primes, I think Ferrari used them to get out of Q3 though so only 2 for them. Don't know about Lotus.

I don't think it was a choice. Based on pace they were forced to use mediums.
I disagree. It's the qualifying strategy they used in every race (bar Melbourne) so far - indicating it's clearly been a choice.

This way they can really push harder in the race with 3 hard tyre stints.

I get the feeling that even for the Lotus, a 2-stop will be a rarity. I think some teams will have to go 4-stop this race.

Vettel
Rosberg
Hamilton

I dunno, I just can't seem to get a good feel for this one. :|

Yep, and Webber had unlimited DRS, a blown diffuser with off throttle blowing. Shows how quickly F1 moves.
2010 RB6 1:19.965
2009 BGP1 1:19.954

no kers or drs. F1 does move indeed... backwards.

He thought he would be on pole because he had found a faster way in sector 3. Merc's were faster though.

lol, what?? Are you making things up in your mind?

What he actually meant was, he was slower over the years in the last chickane than webber because he couldn't find a perfect rhythm trough it and now he's finnaly gotten on top of it. That's all.

The mercedes cars need to make their tires last... There is no point qualifying First and second... and just give it away...

If anyone does do a "splash and dash" final stint in the last few laps on options (ala Vettel in China), I'd suggest the lap record is possible. Still unlikely, however, imo.

currently stands as 1:21.6 from Raikonnen in 2008

kcuf, I hate American TV. Rosberg, Alonso (+0.4s) and Vettel (+0.4s) and NBC thinks this is a good time to go to commercials...

Great, I missed Alonso's and Vettel's overtake on Rosberg.
