Then on the other hand, MGP is good at high temperatures. Would more DF higher asfalt temperature make the tyres even worse?marcush. wrote:Apologies..this was not intended to be offensive.AnthonyG wrote: First,t was a question, so I'm sure of it.
Second, what I mean is that grip is related to en extent to tyre wear, with today's soft tyres you perhaps can have too much grip.
A car like the lotus, which is very good on its tyres, doesn't seem to have much traction, while the Red Bull has good traction, but isn't very good on its tyres.
You got better traction and it will help your wear as you don´t spin the tyres as much -unintenionally-
RedBull might have goodmechanical traction -helping them at corner exits but they seem to live also with more downforce at any given speed -which is too much vertical force for the tyre -leading to higher temps without more grip-
But as this is a W04 thread it could very well be W04 has similar or even more excessive DF levels ? would explain their Qualy pace and inability to conserve tyres..
For marking the startlight, captain obvious...Blackout wrote:What is ''mark startlight'' button for ? (ROS steering wheel, yellow bottom right)

Yeah but what does that mean (to mark the startlight) ?
Isn't that what Renault used to have and they made that illegal? I think their launch system was detecting when the sensors in the asphalt under the starting position got activated and that started the launch control.gilgen wrote:Is it possible that the Mercs have a sensor to react when the red light goes off, so that there is no reaction time needed by driver?
Could it not be that they push that button to do a burn out off the grid to put down some rubber? Don't think they're allowed to have a sensor to aid the driver off the line.gilgen wrote:Is it possible that the Mercs have a sensor to react when the red light goes off, so that there is no reaction time needed by driver?
