I could be wrong, but it looks a bit slimmer at the underside near the rear crash structure.

I do not see that the gearbox has really changed, not as much as the engine cover anyway. The engine cover is quite a large flow change, I have to wonder if they have enlarged the ducting to the lower ducts to compensate for the upper duct now being smaller. That or venting could be more than adequate which allowed them to close the upper vent a bit, good for them if that's indeed the case.

1. Could they change exhausts between races, coz now they are made from a darker metal?

yes they can but that's darker since its a used exhaust

yes, bent shape

ballast weight - kept low for lower CoG

Indeed, looks like a tungsten steel ballast - the estimated weight of this piece is about 8 to 10 kilograms.

And they estimate an improvement of around one tenth.
