Williams FW35 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Seems like Williams tested a version of "pelican" nose today.

They have a new nose here, evolution of the higher one, a bit fatter round shape underneath, different supports and cameras on the nose.

Looking at these photos it appears there is something new about the shark tail as well.

The back of the car ,just before the sharks fin is more hunched back in appearance- previously the top of the airbox into the sharkfin was a smooth line----looks like perhaps some ducting in there for ddrs ---we can dream

Looks like it has looked for a while and Williams dont have time and wouldnt put time into a DDRS that wouldnt give them anything, they have bigger issues.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I think Williams themselves counted this as their 599th start.

Well this was their 599th start, but they said they were celebrating it here since its their home race.

Appears to be the case.
Maybe they should mix and match things from both wings, the 2013 version has had some evolutions that might work on the 2012 concept.

Then again, they haven't found a good upgrade since midseason last year (a mid season evolution of the 2012 wing failed), Coanda was never raced last season, ramped exhaust was .5 slower this season.
After toying with the idea of running 2012 floor, they stuck to the 2013 one... so that's something.
