Ferrari F138

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Obviously thanks Stefan for the shots!

The floor needs one more curve in the outer side edge between tires - I couldn't see it in the video - may be there. The same goes for the three vertical strakes ahead of the diffuser's trailing edge...
There is a thread here in which I discussed the nice fillets that red bull puts between the vertical diffuser strakes and the lower inner surface of the diffuser, but I can't find it. in any case, they showed their thoroughness in adhering to fundamental aero principles by adding those fillets. they reduce the junction drag and reduce separation at the strake/diffuser surface junction.

I posted a picture of the spitfire wing roots used to do the same, but I can't find that either. sorry for being so inept at finding stuff on the forum.

My understanding was that running Davide would allow them to trial new parts, but I'm still not seeing any. Am I missing something? I would have thought everything done so far could have been more reliably done by massa

it isn't about new parts, it is about using every part they wish to test. with race drivers they could work only on car setup, nothing else.

I see what you're saying. So, for example, with massa they couldn't have tried the longer and shorter exhausts even though both have been raced?

Only thing I've spotted so far that is new on the F138 at the YDT is this floor strake.. Which actually dates back to the F2012.
