An image from yesterday I haven't seen posted. The team still working on the exhaust effect on the F138 Aerodynamics...
You can see that "flap" on top of the cooling exit on this picture as well...weird.Crucial_Xtreme wrote:An image from yesterday I haven't seen posted. The team still working on the exhaust effect on the F138 Aerodynamics...

Right, I see what you mean. I think the closed off hole is an illusion, there's still a hole thoughthe edges have grown some 'wings'. Kind of if you were looking into the inside of a fedora.Crucial_Xtreme wrote:Yes it seems to be the same as China. For clarification, that wasn't was I was referring to though.Mui wrote:
This is the sidepod configuration used in china right? The slightly bulbous one?

Yes really interesting... i suspect that they discovered a problem with the extraction of hot air, and they found a solution with the nolder, so now the car need less air intake in the car.Crucial_Xtreme wrote:Interesting that it's rather hot this weekend, yet Ferrari close off the exit for engine cooling.

Well, 5th and 7th on the grid is not a very auspicious start to the weekend. Yes, it's a long race, but Vettel on the front row is not cause for optimism among us tifosi.
what? they closed all the cooling vents to have more cooling? Or the function of the nolder is to have more cooling?wesley123 wrote:nope, just for more cooling.TechF1 wrote:Yes really interesting... i suspect that they discovered a problem with the extraction of hot air, and they found a solution with the nolder, so now the car need less air intake in the car.Crucial_Xtreme wrote:Interesting that it's rather hot this weekend, yet Ferrari close off the exit for engine cooling.

OK thanks it's the same thing i wrote before, but I have not been so clear. =D>wesley123 wrote:The gurney flap enhances low pressure behind the exit which encourages hot air to flow out of it, so it does enhance cooling
