Stabilizer bar link breakage

Post

Hi All,

Over the past couple of days, I have been getting failures on my front suspension stabilizer links (the links that connect the lower control arm to the stabilizer bars).

The links break off from the points where is it mounted to the stab bar. ( the pin section which is bolted to the stab bar with a nut).

Could any one suggest what might cause such a failure?

two possibilities there :

too much load -peakload

or fatigue

reasons could be anything surely something has changed the peakloads .If you have not changed the car ,maybe time has ...a seized (because of rust) bar could put a lot of load into the aRB joints for example...

Without information it is impossible to pinpoint your problem .

Needs photos, but over articulation is the usual one if the designer sized everything correctly. What are you doing that is different?

How many failures over those days?

I agree with the others we definitely need pictures. If the breakage happens very quickly, consider putting a GoPro there to record the break.
