Ferrari F138

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I believe that the specific update was part of the Hungary package.

Omnicorse.it Ferrari: aluminium disc in tyre blankets

Image

Ferrari introduced a new solution to heat tyres when covered in tyre blankets. To heat the shoulder of the tyre, team inserts metal plate between the cover and the thermal blanket. The aluminum, in fact, allows to easily accumulate heat to keep the temperature in tyres before the car enters the track. Maranello-based outfit is pushing in an effort to make the F138 competitive in qualifying condition.

Looks like a fairly comprehensive update (FW, turning vane, diffuser, brake ducts), nice to see some new parts. Lets hope they stay on the car for a change when they get to qualifying/race.

Nice work here. Really hard to tell how different they are until you see them side by side.

The flo-vis looks good at front of floor and you can see where flow splits to go in or out towards the rear.

I agree!
Also you could see sometimes marbles fly away from the tires.
I wonder if will we see these on a Red Bull too? If not then is this a benefit for concurrent teams?
