I just noticed that the new McLaren (and the new Honda I think) have no flick ups or winglets on their front wing end plates, altho most teams now do. A quick search I saw that the RBR, Ferrari, BMW all of have thes device, to presumably divert air over the tyres to reduce drag, or at least control the airflow over the rest of the car. Their old car has it, so I was just wondering if this is something they will exploit later on in the season, and develop. Or have the found a neat solution?
I've been paying alot of attention to these parts reacently and Mclaren at least have never had excess aero devices on their endplates, theirs were designed originally with this in mind and I think it works well. Also the mclaren has a far more defined L shape than most teams.

Another reason for guiding air over the tyres i think is too reduce vibrations at the front, esp while braking.
