Congratz to Marquez.

Lorenzo way too agressive. I think he should receive a penalty for bumping Pedrosa off the road.

But he had that inner line. Just missed breaking.

Lorenzo provided a show in the beginning by slowing everyone down, looked like a Moto3 race in the beginning.
Congrats to Marquez, well deserved champion in his rookie year.

Congratulations to M&M, very composed ride, well beyond his years. He didn't want to pry his nose into Dani and Jorge's fight, but that kept Bautista and Rossi glued to his tail - which was a very awkward and unwanted situation for him. He managed it perfectly. Youngest ever MotoGP World Champion and deservedly so; not to mention in his rookie season.

Best Qualifier of the year, M6 in frozen black as prize, yumyumyum.
With nine pole positions and a further six front row starts, Marquez has accumulated 367 points in the race to become the Best Qualifier, 56 points ahead of Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo in second and 102 points ahead of Cal Crutchlow in third. Marquez takes home the grand prize of a brand new BMW M6 Coupé.

During the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana, Marquez was handed the keys to his prize by Thomas Schemera, BMW M Commercial and Marketing Director.

It is the first time Marquez has collected the award, after he was officially confirmed as the 2013 winner at Valencia, where he qualified on pole position.

So what is the protocol if we want to talk about testing and other things?

Strictly speaking, from Monday, we are in a new season.... so a new thread?

Or a testing/speculation thread for 2014 ?

Well I had thought about that, but lets be honest, there are only 4-5 of us who are interested in motogp around here  .

Officially the 2013 is over, the 2014 run in starts Monday so I think an entire ''MotoGP 2014' thread would be appropriate given the number of likely participants - and it would be good to keep all the speculation and build up in the one place.

My thinking on the matter.

We could just continue here, rename the thread 2013-2014 and maybe make a note in first post that 2013 year spans to page 11.

I find it quite amazing that its only us few thats intrested in both F1 and MotoGP, seeing the amazing spectator numbers MotoGP has compared to F1, eventho F1 also has alot i think MotoGP wins, and i think that has alot to do with the lower classes being much more involved and connected to the large class and that they are actually good racing.

Cause if you directly compare GP3/2 to Moto3/2, there seems to be more pride in winning the Moto ones compared to GP and the attention it gets both on TV and internet. And that its very much a higher % of actually moving up the classes in moto then in GP and eventually F1.

For everyday that goes by i question why i´m still watching the show that is F1 and not pay full attention to the sport that is MotoGP.

MotoGP is hardcore racing, Formula 1 used to be that.

I also watch World Superbikes. I've been watching MotoGP since '02 and WSBK since '04. They have MEGA races more often than MotoGP does. If you enjoy motorcycle racing and want to watch even more exciting races I would strongly suggest WSBK. I've also been following it's sub-category World Supersport since 2006 - the year Kenan Sofuoglu joined it.
