I honestly dont think vettel is going to be that concern about the number 9 win because record like this are only good to resume and it wont mean anything more or less if he doesnt get it. On the other hand if he does help webber win the final race then I think he will gain a lot of respect from fans and within the team.

Judging by how he goes for fastest laps, I'm wagering that 9win in a row record is quite important to him. As it (IMO) should be

Vettel is going to go out and do his best top speed if possible being faster in every sector not just total lap time.

Hes really going to push its the final race of the end of an era.

The question is who is coming in second?

There was also the rather 'questionable' decision to not give Button a second DT for punting Alonso out of the race.
That was Alonso's fault, Jenson had the inside and had already made the pass, Alonso then tried to keep speed through the second part of the chicane rather than concede. Alonso turned in on Jenson, not the other way around.

Massa always quick to make a joke :)
"That's right," said Webber. "I think that my reaction... first of all, we are not completely in a position like Ferrari with their clutches. We know they have a very very good start system so they're stronger than us on the initial..."
"If you want we can change the downforce..." interjected Felipe Massa.

A very early good morning from Fiumicino International AP.

I like the above posts link, two of the old guards having a little bit of fun :)

Vettel seems even hungrier than MS regarding those achievements, late season 2002/2004 there were races "designated" for Rubens and MS played along just fine.

a win will also tie him with Schumacher for most wins in a season, though he had one less race to do it

I am pretty sure Vettel has got a good head on his shoulder and he should know that helping webber to win his final race will go a long way in cementing his position as a great champion within and outside the team.

Even if he makes it 10 win, people will still credit that to his car and not his ability.

Maybe he does know. Not that it mattered to him in Malaysia.

Lol, letting Webber win isn't going to make a difference to the Vettel deniers. He's better off taking the 9 and letting the facts do what the deniers can't.

I think (and hope) Vettel knows that his legacy will come more down to his character rather than the numbers he achieved. Just look at Schumacher - despite the one with the highest number of pretty much everything, he rarely comes out on top when people analyse the "all time greats". I think much of that has to do with some controversial acts for which he'll never be forgotten - the same that will likely hold true for Vettel as well - and his winning in such a dominant car isn't helping him in this regard either. Helping Webber to a grand F1 outting in a less obvious way will do a lot more good than the number 9.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Must be different reasons, why else would Senna be mentioned so often as the G.O.A.T. after some of the controversial acts he did.
