Looks like a highly customized Chev small block v8 to me, hard to be certain tho - massively impressive plumbing work etc

the LT5 was a corvette motor not buick. GMs rare dance with overhead cams.

the reason for this discrepancy ? ..........
thermal efficiency applies to events in-cylinder
overall efficiency unfortunately aka brake thermal efficiency applies to events from air intake to flywheel

I believe the good moderator was referring to a steam engine and not an ICE, which probably can reach a 75% efficiency?
