At least Grosjean has performed well in the last races. The LWB suited him and he showed us that if the car suits him he has a really good pace. The Grosjean-is-a-crasher thing is out-of-date.Sawtooth-spike wrote:http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111662
Well there you go. This in my eyes if the F1 equivalent of Lotus selling out.
I personaly am not so much concerned about the money they had at their disposal, but rather the knowledge. There's been a significant brain drain at Lotus.Shrieker wrote:With rumors Lotus being short on cash, one can't help but wonder whether they've been able to spend enough on the 2014 car these past months. Maldo's money will help surely, but it won't bring back time and lost up ground if any.
Wasn't this concern one of the main reasons that there has been a delay in announcing Maldonado?Bob Brown wrote:I think most of Maldonado's PDVSA money will be spent on paying the debts of this season, including the pay of all the Lotus employees and Kimi.
This would leave little money for next year and so the return of the failing Lotus team of 2010 has arisen.
True, but seeing as how Lotus hid their failure to manage money well for 90% of this season, I won't be surprised to see them trick PDVSA into thinking their money will only go towards 2014.ChrisF1 wrote:Wasn't this concern one of the main reasons that there has been a delay in announcing Maldonado?Bob Brown wrote:I think most of Maldonado's PDVSA money will be spent on paying the debts of this season, including the pay of all the Lotus employees and Kimi.

Seem to remember that PDVSA did not want to commit unless the funds were going towards 2014.
