A shameless image thread for the enginephiles

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

One of the oddest Grand Prix race cars ever built was the 1935 Monaco Trossi. Built by Augusto Camillo Pietro Monaco and funded by race driver Count Carlo Felice Trossi, the 1935 Monaco Trossi was a front-wheel drive car powered by an air cooled, 16-cylinder, two-stroke radial engine.

Now this is what I call an engine, ford Australia's supercharged version of the Coyote v8 known as the Miami - it's good for 335kW (449hp) and 570NM from the factory - tuners are getting more than 450kW's (~650hp) without trying very hard at all!

Edit, changed to a better pic - btw the 335kW is widely believed to be as measured at the flywheel.

MMR owner Mark Luton (who also happens to drive the car) tell us that the engine makes an incredible 2,138 horsepower. That makes this engine the most powerful Coyote V8 in the world.

We have had an image of the Honda oval-piston V4 before, but I think this one xplains a little more, 8-valve and dual con rods!

The amazing Lancia Triflux engine of 1986, with one xhaust valve on each side and running only one turbo at low revs,
not to mention those gargantuan intercoolers. Imagine if Formula 1 could be open for this kind of innovative technology?
