Will we see a return to more elaborate displays on the steering wheel with the addition of turbo, kers and fuel management?
To compare with
Formula E steering wheel
Audi R15
R18

What rule is that 900mm2 area referring to?
It can't be what i quoted from the regs, as it would not be over 135mm and be 9000 not 900.
I myself have been confused, but i now see why i read it incorrectly.
What the rule also does is limit the length of the nose. The nose tip can be no further than 800mm from front wheel center line.
part b is referring to the centroid.
I believe not, the current display is practically a part of the SECU. Besides, all the driver needs to know is when to shift, what gear he's in, whether he's up or down on his previous lap (in qualifying), and how much KERS he has left. All of that can be done on the current display. Everything else is pure fluff. The driver doesn't need to know things like oil pressure, turbo boost pressure, speed, etc.WilliamsF1 wrote:Will we see a return to more elaborate displays on the steering wheel with the addition of turbo, kers and fuel management?

Since vanity panels are allowed and scarbs illustration is also allowed, what is stopping the nose cone from looking like this?
Light green vanity panel
Dark green splitter

Also illegal as such since you need to have two pylons connecting the nose to the front wing according to rule 3.7.2.
Does the rule say how wide the pylons should be ?gobjb wrote:Also illegal as such since you need to have two pylons connecting the nose to the front wing according to rule 3.7.2.
Yes, article 3.7.2 in the regulations. Must be no greater than 25mm wide and maximum area of 5000mm^2 in total.siskue2005 wrote: Does the rule say how wide the pylons should be ?
If not they can put a small slit in the single pylon and claim it as two pieces
