Yeah, Mercedes are certainly building an empire. Nothing but championships in the future will be failure. They seem to have the right structure in place. It was evident in their massive improvements this past year.

Let's just not have a repeat of what we saw on this forum with Willis and Costa. It takes time for the effect of new hires (and new money for that matter) to reverberate down to the track.

They can still afford to come second next year and still be on a more impressive path then Red Bull. But 2015-16-17-18 they must win.
Certainly it seems that if there´s a time for Mercedes to start dominating F1, it´s right now.

well, the amount of time they have been spending on the 2014 car and the noises they have been making about the 2014 - i expect them to win the championship or its a failure

Time spent on a machine is no indicator it will be any good.
But the signing of Newey's two trusted lieutenants is a huge coup for mercedes.
How some things(rake etc) are achieved will no doubt be passed on.
