love the 1993 ferrari. they should go back to that.

some of the old liveries are so good compared to now, they had character

its a shame we don't have renault anymore, this one would be so fitting this year with the turbo etc.

If any of you have free time to kill, I'd love to see what you can do with some historical liveries of American race series. Possible candidates:

Brumos/ white with one blue stripe and one red stripe
Richard Petty/ light blue and hot pink STP sponsorship
Dan Gurney F1/ midnight blue and white
A.J. Foyt /orange and black
Brumos Porsche F1, thanks to Forza 5 having a Lotus E21 in it that's paintable :)

I might give the STP car a go too, but I have a long list of stuff I want to paint in this game

TheWWII fighter motif with the shark mouth is awesome... and I don't mean to diminish your effort one little bit. Lord knows I don't have the ability to do any of that. But the area over the air box is screaming out of a pinup girl. And hash marks under the cockpit to denote wins.

Someone should let the tobacco sponsorship back in F1.

Mild Seven / John Player / Gold Leaf / Rothmans / Winfield / Marlboro / Camel - all had great liveries.

And support and encourage people again to destroy their health? hell no. F1's decision to step away from tobacco
promotion is one of the most respectable and noteworthy actions, even though it's mostly the result in various
bans in various countries. I wish Ferrari was a bit more 'sovereign' by not still having the Marlboro 'friendship'
that they so sneakily show in their scuderia f1 'logo'.

Genii shows they can do without the actual JPS to achieve such. however, time advances and people shouldn't live
in the past. Mclaren's current livery is gorgeous. and another one will be gorgeous too.

There's nothing respectable here, the only reason there is no tobacco advertising is because of the advertising bans in most countries. I also somewhat doubt that tobacco advertising will have more people smoking, especially today with the shear amount of anti smoking propaganda that is shoved down everyones throat.

propaganda?

yes if f1 would still advertise it would have effect. It would promote thus have results. simple as that. you don't think companies pay billions for superbowl ads or billions on sponsorships if it wouldnt result in buyers?

just look at the basic fanboy. whatever his 'hero' drinks or advertises he'll get. Redbull is very bad for health especially
youngsters. But since Redbull is wide open winning championships, there's benefit.

if Hamilton would have Marlboro on the side of his car, fanboys would buy and defend marlboro; atleast to the point that since it isnt on his car, it interests less. Imagine kimi having a personal marlboro sponsor.

Tobacco sponsored cars had the best liveries probably because tobacco enterprises could pay as much as they wished to the artists.

I know it's ugly to say this, but sometimes I find myself at odds when I come to think that great drivers who had big misfortunes were paying back for all the illnesses poor folk had to suffer due to smoking who started in the first place because of all the adverts their cars were carrying. People call it karma. I don't necessarily believe it though, it's just a thought that pops in my head every now and then.

The cars from that era had the best liveries for a simple reason – the teams didn't need to pack as many sponsors onto the car as they possibly could. Bringing back tobacco sponsorship wouldn't change the fact that modern teams will use every inch of space on the car for another logo.

If you let yourself influenced by a commercial and say "Oh well, it's on an F1 car - I should try smoking" then the problem is at your end, not theirs. They are promoting their product like any other company, no matter the industry they are in - alcohool, fast food, cosmetics etc.

It's not about the budget for creating a good livery, it's about imagination. I don't think JPS spent a ton of money on some gold (cream) pinstripes painted on a black car. It was just the effect.
