It is a lot easier structurally to have the nose cone as straight as possible from the front of the chassis, design is simple and slender sections are possible. However in case of next year the tip of the nose cone is at 185 mm, the upper part of the chassis is at 525 mm, the lower is at 250 mm this drooping shape along with a slender section is a more difficult / heavier design compared to current nose cones.

What do you think of this idea, the old Williams FW26 adapted to Regulation 2014?

Why ? From what i can see it doesnt break any rules, assuming you make the pylons and nose etc within the regulations.

It's already been discussed several times in this topic.

I don´t think you have looked at the picture more closely.

If the engine radiator is going to be only on one side, does that mean it will be 33% larger inlet and surface area (as a minimum) will be required?

The Radiator shown on this Picture is the Turbo Intercooler.

Plus this is just an eraly mock up Picture, ecth Team will come up with different Radiator Placements and Sizes.

The presentation video of the 2014 Ferrari engine ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLcbF2uI05s ) shows more of the possible radiator/intercooler layout. The MGUK and the ERS battery each has a seperate one, i would guess that the MGUH will also demand cooling, so the picture seems not to be complete.

Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

Do the MGUs really need separate radaitors ? maybe... but AFAIR, the MGUK between 2009 and 2013 used the same oil as the engine...

Allison said the new Ferrari has 6 radiators, AFAIR; it could be:
1 rad for the Gear-box
2 rads for the engine
1 rad for the ES
1 intercooler
1 for the MGUH and MGUK ?

The electric components of the ERS will all need fluid cooling. Those components are:

1. MGU-H
2. MGU-K
3. Storage pack
4. Power electronics (inverter)

Other cooling needs of the power train are:

5. Engine
6. Gearbox
7. Intercooler
8. Turbo bearing assembly

I reckon you can put 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 on common parallel circulation with one heat exchanger. The MGUs will tolerate higher temperatures than the electronics and it sounds feasible to put them on the engine oil circulation before the oil hits the engine or the turbo charger assembly. But I freely admit that I do not know the specific considerations.

But one thing is for sure. Heat management is obviously worrying many teams and can be expected to cause a few surprises for those teams who have lesser resources and design capacity to spend on exploiting alternative designs.

this is the video presentation of the renault.
These videos (in Cg) are just ideas and not the final design.

I think I herd on the racers edge with Peter Windsor that the intercooler would require a side pod all to its self and all other Cooling would be housed in the other. The engines will require way less cooling than before because of the reduction in size but obviously the increased electronic recovery systems will require way more

its episode 22, interviews with Craig Scarborough, Tim goss from McLaren and a guy from Mobile 1, well worth a watch if you haven't seen
