I'm slightly wary that this should be in the engine testing thread, but anyway why, if it is legal, would they not test the engine in a 2011 150 Italia, for example? @Holm: Right but the Engine Specs of F1 and LMP1 are not so far away, so a 2014 F1 Engine can be modified to fit the LMP1 rules. I was only talking about the Engine, not an actual LMP1 Car Test.
Of course, they could be trying to disguise it so that other manufacturers don't get to hear what they know is the real engine.
