Ferrari 2014 Car Pre-launch Speculation

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I hope they don't get sued by Grumman, like Ford tried to do when Ferrari made the F150. I mean F14 T...really?

I agree that it would be a waste of space because efficiency is low, but in fact it would be tighter (and simpler) than air to air

What about use the intercooler as classical air-air, but route into it also the engine coolant path too? Then it can be called air-water, but it's not exactly. Of course the heat sink must be bigger, but maybe smaller as two independent heat sinks. This is what I meant in the post before.

Love that idea, sounds logical but i wonder if it will work in practice?

How about not using the engine heat exchanger but the gearbox oil heat exchanger? would make piping the air alot simpler:

1 its closer to the plenum for the engine intake air piping.
2 there is only one gearbox heat excahnger where there are two engine heat exchanges. piping to one engine heat exchanger would cause an imbalance.

Dont air intercoolers and air/water intercoolers operate at different temp windows tho?

Since that the name of the 2014 F1 car has been revealed, can an admin rename the "Ferrari whatever" thread to "Ferrari F14-T"? :P

Stefano domincally last season, if he fails again , which he will...
have any doubts? Stefano is just an amateur guy who lead the best team in the world? Dunno why the biggest 2 Teams(McLaren and Ferrari) have 2 noobs on leading posts (Martin and Stefano)
