Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Re: Ferrari F14T

I am concerned with the placement of the radiator exits, it is a traditional design with Ferrari opting for outside airflow to still be directed in the area of just under the beam wing which of course no longer exists. We've seen Mclaren and Lotus move the hot air vents just adjacent to the exhaust pipe freeing up airflow closer to the floor which obviously leads to this possible new 'mini beam' wing we've seen near the floor, Mclaren/Lotus' also creates a type of thermal beam wing which Ferrari do not at all seem to be doing. They've also retained pull rod on the front end whilst Mclaren dropped theirs. Mclaren's arrangement specifically at the rear end really takes advantage of the thermal energy and their rear suspension is specifically designed to take advantage of this potentially well-placed energy whilst Ferrari have done nothing to move in this direction. I am not confident in the F14T so far

I find your post peculiar. Specifically that you wouldn't call it ugly.

I believe that car has a decent claim to win, if not definitely come in the top 3 of a real poll of most ugliest F1 cars in the history of Grand Prix racing.

That's top 3 of ugliest -ever-.

Honestly, if you don't find that car ugly, is there anything that you would consider ugly at all?
It's just a matter of perspective, looking from the side it's not so bad, the stepped-nose one looked far uglier

This nose design looks like the most conservative of all cars we have seen until now.

Mods - any change of renaming this to F14-T rather than having Ferrari taking the FIAT, sorry F14T name into an F1 season?

Makes you realise just how much Mclaren is valuing front suspension/tyre management this year rather than the aero benefit of the higher wishbones - wonder how that will work out given the tyres are supposedly much more robust this year.

if we stick to F1 cars only, than how about this:

Evolution. Nothing more. With retaining pull-rod they could go even more extreme and lowered whole nose.

So in the Intro Video, at Second 55, is that a mold for a Lotus type Nose?

I'm not seeing it frankly. That nose is a bit of a joke and at this juncture it just tells me that Ferrari expect to have a lot less downforce than McLaren or Lotus do.

Then they must have another Car in the making. It wouldn't fit at all. Plus the Gap is nowhere near large Enough for a Helmet.

Edit: The left 'Fork' even looks longer, exactly like the Lotus.
