One more think - It's just my feeling but I think RBR will go this same way

Exactly what I was thinking. looking at last years Redbull and their treatment to the nose and vanity panel I have a feeling the redbull going to have a similar looking nose treatment....Maybe Ferrari is onto something and with 2 of arguably the strongest and most adaptable drivers, this could bode very well for them.

The McLaren isn't going to much more air under than the F14 T. And the Ferrari nose seems quite rounded to help facilitate air under front bulkhead along with help from camera pods. Armchair aero isn't going to tell us how good this nose is or isn't compared to other designs.

thats why i said im no engineer, we will se which solution is better, there is a tech post on this site already which explains the f14t, we will see

The new Ferrari looks as if Kimi had fallen on the car after partying too much the day before the reveal. Doesn't look like a championship-winning car to me, but who knows how much they're going to change things at the front come Melbourne.

Oh, how I love "this doesn't look like a championship winning car to me" comments... Especially remembering those same comments for F2012, a car that needed just 4 points to be a championship winner...

The still doesn't show the real width of the gap but few stills later you can really appreciate when in angle that it might be the Lotus style nose

I suspect its the mould for the rear wing support.

I see what you mean but it seems to have a bend the wrong way in it for the rear wing support which has an ovalised section in it to contour round the exhaust. If it is turned upside down I think it follows the curve of the nose far more closely. The new noses have all sorts of odd shaped crash structures within them, Scarbs theory on the possible Caterham nose shows this. I love this time of year, by the time we work out what the part is they will have updated it for Jerez or Barcelona anyway.

Hmmm... small sidepods, their engine could possibly have less power than the Mercedes.

Or just be built to withstand higher running temp.

Watch the video if it makes it easier. But there's no way that's a headrest.

There's no mention of the power train - no actual images even at launch. Given the tiny side pod inlets, could Ferrari be hiding some trick cooling systems?

Honestly, I expected there to be some more posts between yours and mine in the meantime. Didn't mean this only for you, it was a general opinion. I hated seeing people writing how ugly McLaren is, I think it looks great and that it has wonderful solution to all kinds of problems. Same for Lotus, I only posted a character form Sponge Bob facepalming, because E22 nose reminded me of that Man-Ray, and the first picture of him I came onto was that facepalm gif - it felt like a sign form Flying Spaghetti Monster, so I posted it. I don't like those walrus tusks, but I didn't see any point in writing that, so instead I tried to be funny, it's better to laugh than to cry.

And same goes here, I think F14-T looks great, not just because I'm Tifosi, because there are so many nice details to it, because solution for the nose is elegant and there is a lot more to it than we can see... It's tedious scrolling trough all those useless "ah, this car is ugly" posts to find valuable pictures from videos and interesting sketches from other people...

One advantage Ferrari nose may give is that it should work better in yaw. McLaren and Lotus nose will have dramatically different flow in yaw condition.

I don't know why everyone thinks this is a benefit, you still have to reject the heat to the air somewhere along the line.
