Toro Rosso STR9 Renault

Nah it just doesn't have the engine in it yet in the studio shot. Notice the pull rods aren't attached yet either.

In the front view studio pic, when you look into the top roll hoop intake, you can see light... how is taht possible ?

you look straight through into the rear exit. possibily the lower part is actually the air intake, or during studio shots they didn't have the engine nor the air intake mounted.
apart from that, rear suspension looks very very interesting.

WANG! Is this an indication of what the Red Bull will look like?

I'm a McLaren fan but I think the Ferrari looks the best so far. Not that it looks good in the whole scheme of things, but compared to the Wangs it's a beauty.
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

I wonder if RBR will be using TR as their experimental team this year; for the first time they will have the same drivetrain, so Adrian could see how tight the package can be made on the STR9, and then send it to the RB9 when it works right. They would have to slow them down somehow, to make sure that they aren't faster, but I don't see them passing on this opportunity.

From looking at the pics i think the rear-end packaging will even get tighter soon. Imho this currently is a safety design to ensure engine cooling during testing.

in all fairness the teams didnt have to adopt the d**ks...
teams wanna win, not be remembered for their good looking cars, if this design give something in aero performance they will pursue this way

i'm afraid you are wrong about driver cooling however

i assume you think that bulge above the cepsa logo has an intake? as you see it doesn't and the nose itself has an intake.

totally agree, the FIA only went halfway IMO, they should either define exactly what they want, or just relax and not try dictate every single aspect of bodywork, they didnt learn after 2012 (which i miss to be honest, especially the RB/lotus noses)

I think they lost some width by moving one of the radiators behind the driver, it's a lot bigger than we have seen previously so I'm assuming that helps. It's bigger in certain areas than we have seen before but it's not magical.

That rear end though. Phwoar.

Doesnt this just mean that it´s an old floor?

I think this is just very conservative test spec.

I don't know, I think so. There is no impact on the aerodynamic?

No worries, that thing which is highlighted in green circle is just a housing of rear infrared sensor.
