A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
Good one.
So, three possibilities:
1: it's the current nose cone but upside down and with a gap in the middle witch isn't visible from above, but from a cad drawing presented in one of the videos i wouldn't take this like a presumable one.
2: it's a nose e22-like, but from that picture it doesn't seems to be lopsided.
3: mystery that lies in some kind of R&D

If that nose doesn't work as well as, let's say the Mercedes nose which is looking to be somewhat similar, how hard is it for Ferrari do something more like what they're doing? Basically I'm asking is, how big of a deal is it to have a few nose designs? I know other teams have made changes to their nose mid season in the past, but I'm not sure how many made major structural changes vs aero/aesthetics. I just wonder, if this really is something that doesn't work as well as other designs on the grid, how easily is it changed.
It seems like everyone is so uncertain about this design, and maybe that's only because it so different than what we've seen so far from the other 2014 cars. Wouldn't they have already had more than one nose that passed crash testing unless they were certain this was the best solution?
I feel like this nose has to be what works best with the rest of the car's chassis (with it small side pods and comparatively high chassis). If they got it wrong though, it seems they're really going to have a hard time going to something more "conventional" because the rest of the chassis seems to be built around that low-slung nose. I think it's going be interesting to see if this design is somehow better and whether or not it's what they stick with for the entire season. I also feel like if Mercedes turns out to have a similar design there will immediately be less thinking/feeling that Ferrari got it wrong.
Man frankly if the only issue at the end of the winter testings will lay in the nosecone Montezemelo will pull out the mumm from the fridge, and i'll do so.

"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

Exactly what I was thinking. looking at last years Redbull and their treatment to the nose and vanity panel I have a feeling the redbull going to have a similar looking nose treatment....Maybe Ferrari is onto something and with 2 of arguably the strongest and most adaptable drivers, this could bode very well for them.
The F14T's nose does seem like an extreme extension of the shape of the RB9s, matched to the new regulations. Must say I prefer it to the dick noses.
The exhaust can and will (IMO) blow the monkey seat, or better said,it's lower surface. There is only a 15mm exclusion zone around the virtual exhaust cylinder. The first images are from Ferrari's own CGI video. The middle one is from the Toro Rosso, which doesn't even try to hide the intention. The last is from last year's end of an era party in the Caterham garage. The blue flame extends well beyond the 15mm exclusion area.

It's the mould for the rear wing support. It's the right curvature and the right spacing for the two fins.
Too narrow for a cockpit, and not curved/kinked enough for a nose.

Good one, thank you. For those fans of EBD, stop, please. The gasses after passing through turbine lost a huge amount of energy, and the monkey seat itself doesn't produce a lot of downforce. whatever the case may be there are very little benefits from eb this year

Doesn't it look like in a couple of cars as if they were trying to redirect the blow of the exhaust to the top of the led light of wet in the rear? For instance in Mclaren and TR I'm seeing so.
Anyway I think this season It's going to be many surprises but Ferrari isn't going to be among them apparently. From an aerodinamically point of view.
