A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Nice 4-way comparison. The Merc looks to be the tightest at the rear followed by the Ferrari. The Ferrari has a bit larger cooling exit though. The Red Bull is now dumping the majority of its cooling exhaust at the base rather than a big opening below the rear wing. That is surprising especially since I figure you would want as much air passing around the sidepods and across the floor as you could get.
The Mercedes cooling exits are small compared to the rest. The Mercedes's fin on the back side of the air intake is the largest, which means the actual cover is probably the smallest.
The Williams is also pretty compact at the rear. It still has the abrupt ending area past the intake. I am curious how well they will do relative to the compitition now that the coanda is gone.
Why does the williams have body work above the splitter whereas mercedes and toro rosso don't. Surely this will mean they wont be able to adjust the height of it?
The top down view seems to show Red Bull and Mercedes having scarily similar sidepod shapes.
Ferrari has the tightest but then again they have a massive bulge sticking out as well.
Their cokebottle almost seems "too good" as well if that makes any sense.
