Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

actually, if you look close at the studio image, the front part looks removable, so there could be something into that. you can faintly see a outline/lightness difference. but indeed, it's different.

Another thought on the nosetip-intake: Is it maybe a ram-air design to pull as much air as possible into the chassis to create a zone of low pressure to "tunnel" the airflow between the pylons?

It's not an intake. It's carbon fibre.

Intake it is.

It serves the S duct and "driver cooling"

No, just no. It's just a glossy piece of carbon fiber from the crash structure that has a vanity panel fitted around it.

Can you draw what you think it is? Or annotate? We are all clearly seeing an intake...

Well one other guy mentioned an S-Duct, I can see that below the nose near the bulkhead. But the guy I replied to talked about the "nose tip" intake.

They are not required to run with camera's in testing.

the s-duct needs an intake which will direct air through the pylons

Yes, that is what we are talking about. It's suggested to work like this:-
