Interesting article here from Mark Hughes, putting forward a theory that the Ferrari and Merc nose choice is coupled with a longer wheelbase:

Surprising to see flow vis already - which bodes well for all the other systems working pretty much as expected.

Ferrari went the same route with the two lower rear suspension arms forming a wing with the drive shaft.

i was just about to say about the stering wheel. I cropped it and it had a LED screen on it. Buti couldnt upload it because i dont know how to.

For whatever reason they choose not to envelop it like Red Bull does (Mercedes too).

So the nose works sending air around the sides. It seems like there's a lot of suction from below the nose.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the rotation somehow works with the arms to create a bit of DF. The rotating shaft itself does so, but also adds turbulence to the surrounding flow.
